How Does Your Interviewing Technique Score?
Interviewing is one of the most important processes within your business, however it’s often under-estimated, rushed or simply carried out without proper care and attention.
And whilst we can move heaven and earth to find the right candidates which we believe will fulfil your requirements, the final decision is down to your interview process.
So here is a quick tip to help improve your interviewing skills.
Use the job description for the role to highlight 4 key skills and characteristics which your perfect candidate should be able to demonstrate.
Develop 4 key questions which will enable your candidate to communicate their abilities. Bear in mind you may need to ask follow up questions to look for evidence.
Then score each candidate’s answer to each of the questions out of 10, where 1 is poor and 10 is outstanding.
You could also add a weighting system to the answers, if some skills or characteristics are more important than others.
If you have identified the right skills and characteristics, asked the right questions and scored the candidates objectively, the candidate with the highest score should be the best person for you.
Try it with your next interview and see the difference it makes.
